Community Planning and Development Committee

The Community Planning and Development Committee at Let’s Rebuild Tuskegee is dedicated to shaping the future of our city through thoughtful planning and collaboration. This committee focuses on proposing new zoning ordinances, developing a comprehensive community plan, and spearheading physical development projects that promote sustainable growth and revitalization. By working closely with residents, local leaders, and stakeholders, we aim to create a stronger, more vibrant Tuskegee for generations to come.

Key Open Committee Roles:

  1. Chairperson - To lead and oversee all efforts related to strategic community growth, zoning proposals, and development initiatives. This individual is responsible for organizing committee meetings, guiding discussions on planning and development priorities, coordinating with local government and stakeholders, and ensuring that proposed plans align with the mission of the organization. The Chairperson also plays a key role in mobilizing community input, managing timelines for proposals, and presenting the committee’s recommendations to the Board of Directors or broader community when needed.

  2. Vice Chairperson - Supports the Chairperson in leading the committee’s initiatives and serves as the acting leader in the Chairperson’s absence. This role includes helping coordinate meetings, contributing to the development of strategic plans and proposals, assisting with community engagement efforts, and ensuring smooth communication among committee members. The Vice Chairperson also helps track progress on development goals, supports collaborations with local stakeholders, and ensures that the committee’s activities remain aligned with the overall mission and vision of Let’s Rebuild Tuskegee.

  3. Secretary - Responsible for recording and distributing meeting minutes, maintaining an accurate schedule of meetings and events, managing official committee correspondence, and organizing records related to proposals, plans, and community feedback. The Secretary ensures that all members are informed of decisions, upcoming tasks, and ongoing initiatives, helping to maintain transparency and accountability within the committee.

  4. Committee Members - Committee members of the Community Planning and Development Committee of Let’s Rebuild Tuskegee play an essential role in shaping and advancing the organization's vision for revitalization. These members actively participate in meetings, contribute ideas and expertise to the creation of zoning proposals, development strategies, and community plans, and assist in identifying and prioritizing local needs. They collaborate with stakeholders, attend public engagement sessions, and help carry out initiatives that support sustainable growth and community empowerment.
